USA Triathlon has hired Bill Wengert as its corporate financial officer and Shannon Votruba as its clubs and regional coordinator and to help with event sanctioning.

Wengert is a Colorado Springs native and a 1989 graduate of Transylvania University in Lexington, Ky. Most recently, he served as the vice president of finance and administration for ADC Information Technologies.

He has also been a senior manager with KPMG's consulting and auditing practice in Lexington, Ky., and an internal auditor for two years with Kentucky Utilities Company.

Wengert has a wife, Missy, and two children, Tyler and Hannah.

Votruba is originally from Fairview Park, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. She graduated from Ashland University in Ohio in May, 2002 with a degree in public communications and marketing.

While at Ashland, Votruba was a goalkeeper for the nationally ranked women's varsity soccer team. She has interned with the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics and was a public relations intern with the Cleveland Force of the Major Indoor Soccer League.

Another change at USA Triathlon is a revamped logo. The new logo is much like the old, but uses slightly different colors, fonts and font sizes. There is also a new graphics and standards manual to go with the logo.

"The old logo was looking dated and didn't have the impact we were looking for," said USA Triathlon marketing director Gina DeMarco. "Plus, there are too many versions of it being used. We are hoping to maintain a little more control over the new logo."
