Tim DeBoom, Greg Watson and Andrea Ratkovic were all
winners at
Sunday's major multi-sport races. DeBoom (Lyons, CO) won the Blackwater Eagleman
Triathlon in
Cambridge, Md., completing the 1.2-mile swim, 56-mile
bike and
13.1-mile run in 3 hours, 44 minutes, 7 seconds. Australia's
Chris Legh was second (3:51:52) and New Zealand's
Stephen
Sheldrake was third (3:54:05).
Switzerland's Natascha Badmann won the women's race in
4:13:58
over Joanna Zeiger (Baltimore, MD), who finished second
(4:15:10). Amy Farrell (Ogdensburg, NY) was third (4:19:27).
The race was a qualifier for the Ironman World
Championships in
Hawaii.

The Dannon Duathlon race in Alpharetta, Ga., had qualifying
spots for elites for the International Triathlon Union (ITU)
Duathlon World Championships, which will also be in
Alpharetta
in October. The top four U.S. finishers got the berths.
Watson (Newark, DE) and Ratkovic (Norman, OK), the
defending U.S. national duathlon champions, took the titles
in
the men and women's race respectively. Watson finished
the 5K
run, 30K bike and 5K run in 1:15:47. Ratkovic finished in
1:26:32.
The next three qualifiers in the men's race were Travis Kuhl
(Carthage, NY), Tyler Johnson (Chester, CT) and Eric
Schwartz (Boulder, CO). The next three qualifiers in the
women's race were Lauren Jensen (New Berlin, WI), Marjan
Huizing (Montgomery Village, MD) and Anne Preisig
(Falmouth,
MA).
Anne Ellacott (Marietta, GA) and Dana Lyons (The
Woodlands,
TX) were the masters women and men's race winners.
Gabrielle
Hauck (Savannah, GA) was the overall women's age group
winner
and Bruce Erskine (Smyrna, GA) was the overall men's age
group
winner.
