The 32nd annual Maui Marathon to be held Sunday, September 22nd, is filling rapidly. With growth from Japanese entries, increased mainland marketing activities, and over 600 entries from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's, "Team in Training", the 3,200-limited field is on track to be reached by late June or early July..

Though the date change from March to September was a concern of the Valley Isle Road Runners Association, it appears entries will exceed the 2001 event by as much as fifteen percent. All entry fees are currently $60 through May 31st and will increase to $75 after June 1st. Interested participants are encouraged to enter the event before it is sold out.
