NASA hosts 23rd annual Lunar Rendezvous Run
June 26
The Bay Area Running Club is proud to present a race that is as
much a part of summer as the heat and humidity of Houston. The
Lunar Rendezvous Space Run is part of the Lunar Rendezvous
Festival, an annual event that celebrates the triumph of the
first landing of man on the moon.
The race will be held on the Johnson Space Center on Saturday,
July 14th, 2001, starting at its new time of 7:30 AM. The fast,
flat out and back course will have two water stops along the way. This event includes a 5K run and a 5K walk. Awards will be given
to the top overall and top masters men and women finishers in
the 5K run and to the top three finishers in each age group in
the 5K (0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-
49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over. In addition, the
top ten finishers in each age group will receive a custom mug.
A random drawing will award mugs to 30 finishers in the walk
division. The entry fee for both events is $15 ($5 late fee after May
31). Entry forms can be obtained by calling 281-334-4397.
Beautiful custom designed t-shirts will be given to all entrants. Any questions regarding the race can also be directed to
