Andrea Fisher of Austin, Texas is ready to conquer the 2004 Halfmax Triathlon (half iron-distance). The race, set to take place on Sunday, June 20, 2004, will feature Fisher's first attempt at the Halfmax title.

Fisher is without a doubt one of the best long course American female professional triathletes in the sport today. She recently took 4th place at Ironman New Zealand with a time of 9:42. She is a former Lady Longhorn swimmer with 8 top-5 Ironman finishes, as well as the 2-time winner of the Blackwater Eagleman Half Ironman, where she was the former course record holder. Back home in Texas she is a multiple time winner of the Danskin Triathlon and the Capital of Texas Triathlon.

Jamie Cleveland, Fisher's husband and professional triathlete, will be traveling with her for the Halfmax Triathlon weekend. He is the former Canadian National Champion and Ironman Florida 2000 Champion. His recent wins include the Gulf Coast Half Ironman and the Trilogy Triathlon. The pair is making plans to co-host several activities around the weekend of racing at Innsbrook Resort.

Saturday's Quartermax, Minimax (kid?s triathlon) and Sunday's Halfmax will be held at the 7,000-acre Innsbrook Resort. The Resort provides a backdrop for one of the most spectacular venues in the sport. A racing field of 1,600 is expected over the weekend.

Age Group and weight class athletes will be competing for an unprecedented $12,000 in prize certificates provided by Trisports.com. Each age group division will receive certificates based on the number of entrants.

Many athletes this weekend will be competing for a different prize. Halfmax racers will be vying for an inaugural slot in the 2004 US Half Triathlon Championship. Athletes that finish in the top 20% of their respective age group will qualify for the Championship to be held September 25, 2004 in Kansas City, Missouri. This qualifier- only event will host the best long course triathletes in all age group and weight class divisions from around the U.S.
