Standards for Local Invited Runners at the 2002 Compaq Houston Marathon as follows:

The 10 mile through 30k times are for performances at this year's warmup series. The marathon times are for the 2001 Compaq Houston Marathon only.

In addition to those who have met the above standards, the Compaq Houston Marathon will invite a number of local runners who have outstanding performances at these races including masters runners whose performances are age graded.

The above standards are subject to change for Local Invited Runner status at the 2003 Compaq Houston Marathon.

These standards were arrived at, after careful consideration of nationally recognized point standards associated with running performances, by the Invited Runner Committee: Alex Galbraith, Chair and Roger Boak, Technical Adviser and Research Director. There will be additional standards established for those runners from outside the local area with outstanding running performances who desire Invited Runner status.
