Suunto has become the official timer and heart rate monitor of
XTERRA, the world(1)s largest off-road multi-sport series. The two
companies have also agreed to use the Suunto X9i (the world(1)s
smallest and lightest GPS unit) at select XTERRA events to map
courses and create three-dimensional simulated flyovers for
viewing on the XTERRA and Suunto Web sites. Both companies say
the partnership is an ideal fit, pairing advanced heart rate
monitors and outdoor instruments with adventure-minded athletes.
In addition to becoming the official timer of XTERRA, Suunto
will equip eight Suunto XTERRA Ambassadors with Suunto t6 heart
rate monitors and Suunto Foot and Bike PODs. On its end, XTERRA
will offer select Suunto wristop computers as official XTERRA
Gear at race expos and through the organization(1)s Web site.
XTERRA will also award Suunto heart rate monitors to top
finishers at high-profile races.
XTERRA is the world's largest off-road multi-sport series, with
more than 100 annual events on a regional, national and global
level. For more information about XTERRA events, check out www.xterraplanet.com and for more
