USA Triathlon has announced that existing marketing partner
Bodyglide has provided 25,000 samples for distribution at
sanctioned camps, clinics and some first-year events. Bodyglide's President Bill Sternoff wanted to support first-time
and novice triathletes as the sport continues to grow and
flourish. USA Triathlon has identified that camps, clinics and
first-time races effectively meet this criteria.
"The objective of the program is to encourage new participants
to stay with the sport, and to help the sport grow by making
athletes aware of products that help them reach their personal
best," says Sternoff. "Triathletes first told us how our
products help them in 1996, and we have been active in helping
to build the sport, ever since. We are proud to be a part of
USAT, and our sponsorship is in its fifth year."
Bodyglide samples will automatically be sent from the National
office to qualifying events that occur after May 15, 2005.
"We couldn't be happier with the opportunity to support
sanctioned events that are typically smaller and have a
difficult time obtaining product support," said USA Triathlon
Event Services Director Kathy Matejka. "The Bodyglide product
sample initiative is a viable start to a larger comprehensive
race director support program."
"USA Triathlon is grateful to have Bodyglide as a marketing
partner, said Kelley Paulus, USA Triathlon Marketing
Manager. "The company continues to keep the best interest of our
members at heart and we value its support."
