CB&I Triathlon set for May 5 in The Woodlands
March 19, 2007
Editor's note: The March 2007 issue of RTN
inadventently listed the date of the CB&I Triathlon as May 6.
The correct date is May 6.
In its fourth year as one of the premier multi-sport events in
the region, CB&I Tri - The Woodlands offers high-caliber
competition, first-rate race management and a scenic course. This year CB&I Tri - The Woodlands has been named the USAT SMW
State Championship Race. The 2007 race will feature a field of
850 participants, which is an increase from last year's 650.
Last year's participants ranged from beginners to nationally
ranked tri-athletes. The 2006 event sold out a month before the
race date with over 100 hopefuls trying to get in after
registration closed. Although participation is expanded, it is
still expected to sell out earlier this time around. Participants are drawn to the event because of its reputation,
wonderful volunteers and ideal location with a picturesque race
route that takes you around The Woodlands community through the
innovative Market Street, Town Center, the Waterway and the
wooded neighborhoods past cheering spectators. These things
earned the event a ranking as one of the "Top 10 in the USAT
South Midwest Region for sprint distance triathlons" in 2004.
The event culminates with a festive awards party featuring
music, great food, beverages and cool door prizes. For more details, log on to http://www.thewoodlandsassociations.org and
